We are absolutely delighted with the work that Brockville Wood Products completed in our pre World War I home ! It was done in two stages , firstly refinishing the first floor including the original pine floor , and a red oak overlay in the living room and dining room, as well as patching a former hearth . Secondly ,the second floor (4 bed rooms) was replaced with Wickham solid red oak flooring which matched the finish perfectly. Finally the stairs were sanded and refinished to tie the project together . BWP handled the moving of large pieces, we packed the small personal items , and for the most part we did not have to leave the house . The Wickham product is outstanding with the edges and ends fitting tightly together and the finish is consistent throughout . We are very pleased . The two hearths required pieces of custom white pine baseboard to be milled and they match the vintage baseboards perfectly . We were so pleased with the first stage of the project that we asked Dale to proceed immediately to do he second floor, rather than waiting between the stages. Dale kept us well informed at to when each operation was to be done and guided us in the selection of appropriate materials .Each was separately invoiced and we worked with Lyne who carefully applied the payments. We retired some years ago and moved in immediately . There has been considerable owner responsible work involved in packaging belongings. If the floors could have been done before moving in ,it would be much easier for all , but in our case it was not possible. We are sorry to have put it off for so long as the new floors have made a terrific difference in our enjoyment of the house. We wanted to have our staircase and landing redone so we stopped in at Brockville Wood Products for suggestions, as we really did not know what we wanted. Dale showed us samples and gave us a couple of glossy booklets to bring home. We still did not know what we wanted so Dale offered to come to the house to see what we had, give us some suggestions and take measurements. Dale was very patient and there was never any pressure to order anything. Finally we decided to go with something waterproof and chose the Torlys Smart Tread/Riser vinyl kit. We decided to keep the stringers and caps as is but with a fresh coat of clear finish applied. We were given a quote for the job and then we agreed to the installation date. When the day arrived, Dale introduced his installer Shawn. We found him to be efficient and very particular to our needs, with attention to detail. He recoated the stringers and caps like we wanted, but when he came the next day we had changed our minds and wanted them painted instead. No problem... he wanted us to be happy with the finished job, we were glad that we had made this change. When the job was finished we asked Dale to make a couple of minor changes. Changes were made and we were satisfied. Again, their concern was the customer being happy with the final outcome, and we are. We would also like to mention Lyne. Our dealings with her were pleasant, both on the phone and in the office. We found her to be professional and personable with a good sense of humor. This week I had three railing units as well as handrails installed in my home. It has taken 18 years for this project to happen. I simply loved my open space comprising the kitchen, dining, and living room areas and did not want to introduce clutter. There comes a time when you realize you have tempted fate long enough and I was hopeful that Dale Murphy from Brockville Woodworking could help me accept the inevitable. We decided that high quality glass panels as well as six stainless steel posts would pick up on the hardware features of the kitchen cupboards, and the railings would match the wood in the cupboards. The final result was simply stunning. I still find myself hanging out in the kitchen just admiring the simple beauty of it all and what I thought would be an intrusion is an enhancement into the open area beyond. Dale was ever patient and he knew his product very well. His quote was clearly presented and included all the information required and in an attractive format. Being a cautious individual I was impressed that he brought his installer for a visit and together they decided there would be no problems to contend with on the day of installation. Although Marc-Andree, his son, would be the one scheduled to do the work on the railings it was clear that there was a seamless transaction and that their measurements were exact. Moreover, it was a pleasure to witness Marc-Andree's fine skills as well as his consideration and cheeriness he brings to the job. Applause! Applause! for an outstanding project. We had numerous meetings with our clients and Dale to look at various products that he offers at his store. BWP supplied and installed all of the hardwood flooring, interior Douglas Fir doors and exterior doors. He also supplied us with the balusters for a Timber Frame staircase.
